The Supa Pro League (SPL) is a concept born out of a need in African Pool which caters for a consistent and scalable solution that provides its players with a platform to both showcase their talents and potentially professionalise the opportunity while doing what they love.
Designed for the players by players, together with promoters in the industry, the enormity of potential in the concept is truly groundbreaking.
Spectators can look forward to a world-class streaming experience on a weekly basis with match lineups amongst the best in their provinces!
Quite simply put, the SPL intends on hosting singles leagues in all provinces throughout the year which are played at various levels from grassroots status all the way up to international events where the best of the best will compete in a very short time to come. For now, Gauteng will be the epicentre of activity.

Let’s break down the Gauteng Premier League to better understand the road ahead.
Each season, starting from season 1 consists of:
- 8 Players max per league
- 7 weeks of exciting round-robin league matchplay
- Race to 9 Frames per match, 50 minutes time limit
- Blackball Rules (But not limited to), 45 seconds per shot, 1 extension per frame allowed
- Lag to break; frame winner breaks thereafter.
- Sorting order is points won in the match, then wins. 1 point per frame won. Bonus point for breaks & finishes.
Pool in Africa needs a fresh and consistent approach that benefits all stakeholders, most importantly the elite players that the continent has to offer.

For the 1st season only, a semi-final and finals will be hosted to determine who is the overall champion. This should fall away by season 2 as the national level comes into play with other provincial champions.
If you’re a venue owner, a cuesport promoter, a federation of any ruleset, or an aspiring player of any level, we cater for you and truly want to work with all to grow the sport free of politics, bias, and other hurdles that have stagnated the sport for so many years.
We have seen a rise in the growth potential in recent times, and we definitely want part of that action! If you’d like to play, partner, sponsor, or support in any way, simply reach out to us via email at info@supaproleague.com soonest so we can arrange a quick meet to discuss further.
Kind Regards,
The SPL Team
