The stage is set for the first-ever Supa Pro League Gauteng Premier Division finals, and this Thursday at Billiard Café Rivonia is all about sudden-death drama. After seven intense weeks, the Round Robin is complete, and the top four now collide for more of the cash pot.
🔥 Semi-Final Matchups (from 8:00 pm)
Semi-Final 1: Lucas Venter (1st) vs Shane Pillay (4th)

This clash is all about momentum vs redemption. Lucas has been unstoppable all season, finishing top of the leaderboard and banking R10,000 for his Round Robin dominance. His consistency, tactical awareness, and clinical finishing have made him the man to beat.
Shane, however, thrives as the underdog. Despite slipping to 4th place, he’s a player with immense firepower — when he finds rhythm, he can take down anyone. Lucas may have dominated their previous encounter, but Shane knows one good surge in the knockout format could flip the script. Expect tactical safety mixed with big breaks as both players chase the first seat in the grand final.
Semi-Final 2: Nsovo Mathonsi (2nd) vs Nico Erasmus (3rd)

A battle of grit and flair, this semi-final promises fireworks. Nsovo has been one of the standout entertainers of Season 1, playing fast, fearless pool and producing some of the best shot-making we’ve seen. His Round Robin form secured him 2nd place, but he’ll know that knockout play is a different beast.
Nico, meanwhile, has shown incredible composure under pressure, sneaking into 3rd place at the last possible moment. That clutch factor makes him dangerous in the sudden-death format. He doesn’t just grind out wins, he finds ways to survive and advance. Nico’s creativity will be tested against Nsovo’s measured, strategic approach, and this matchup could easily go down to the wire.
